MARÉ is the José Avillez’s restaurant in Guincho, with a sea view and cuisine based on the flavour and unique freshness of Portuguese fish and shellfish.

With its relaxed atmosphere, ocean-inspired décor and outstanding location the restaurant is integrated in Guincho’s natural landscape, in direct touch with nature. It is the perfect setting for enjoying the best shellfish and fish, but also meat dishes and delicious desserts.

The restaurant has two dining halls and two terraces overlooking the ocean. The interior design showcases elements linked to the ocean, such as azulejo panels produced and painted by the Viúva Lamego workshops, based on an illustration by artist Henriette Arcelin; a suspended three-metre-long wooden manta ray, by artist Luis Gallego, and ceramic sculptures of fish and sea horses by Studio Bongard.
