Ever since he started out, Pep Lluís Mayol, also known as ‘Barretes’, has worked with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on the highest-quality ingredients: values that have become the backbone of his culinary work. The talented chef, originally from Sóller, Mallorca, discovered his passion for cooking at a very young age, learning and soaking up his mother’s recipe book.
These days he has a committed kitchen team with whom he works every day, side by side, to achieve harmony in each of his dishes, always pursuing his own particular mysterious and exotic touch.
‘Barretes’ is currently fulfilling his dreams at Cas Xorc Luxury Retreat, an incredible setting in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains. In this magnificent spot overlooking Sóller, he dazzles diners with his talent and creativity in a beautiful open kitchen. The surrounding natural environment is undoubtedly impressive, with sublime views, gardens full of flowers and terraces with fruit trees, and even an old olive mill. What more could you ask for?
