AMÊ Gastrobeach Club
The term gastrobeach doesn’t appear in the dictionary, but lexicographers should take note. Where there was once only nostalgia for a place sealed shut, a floating stage now stands tall, defying the passage of time with nigiri, events, and live music. The eastern part of the island has long awaited this culinary renaissance right on the seafront.
The Marport Group had been planning the natural evolution of the beach bar for some time. In certain areas of the coast eating truly well just a few steps from the sand without sacrificing sophistication might have seemed like a pipe dream. That is, until AMÊ Gastrobeach Club opened up right on the waterfront in Cala Millor.
Although its name phonetically evokes Parisian romance, there is a twist, since it is actually a nod to pure Mallorcan geography. AMÊ pays tribute to Punta de n’Amer, a place that embodies a perfect balance of history, nature and the Mediterranean. This essence inspires its entire identity, uniting tradition and modernity and creating a constant interplay between the land and sea to forge unforgettable experiences. From its exclusive bamboo hammocks to its terrace designed to appear as if it were floating above the water, the setting captivates you, without overshadowing the food.

In the kitchen, executive chef Fidel A. Gutiérrez works with an undeniably Mediterranean pantry, although his approach leans more towards Asia. His conceptual space, Assura, bursts with Eastern techniques and Nikkei influences. The Balfegó tuna belly teppanyaki is the true litmus test: a flawless dish that sets the bar high for the restaurant. Here, sushi is not just a mere embellishment on the menu; it is the star of the show. The monumental omakase platters prove that technical virtuosity can be served in flip-flops by the sea. For Sunday purists, the rice dishes cooked a la llauna proudly uphold the local culinary tradition.

365 days of enjoyment by the sea
What makes this new opening truly unusual is its refusal to be dictated by the tourist season. While much of the island shuts down in November, AMÊ operates all year round. During the colder months, it becomes the perfect retreat for locals from Manacor or Porto Cristo, offering yoga retreats, wine tastings and weekly concerts. Once it gets hotter, the club cranks up the volume and unleashes its full charm.
This culinary powerhouse also boasts an events department with the flexibility to organise everything from corporate dinners to pre-wedding parties featuring haute cuisine finger food menus. All of this is backed by a genuine energy-efficiency model that is not just for show.
A postcard-perfect landscape is of little use if what is on the table does not measure up. At AMÊ Gastrobeach Club, the food rivals the Mediterranean. And not only that, it outshines it.
