There are places where the sand burns and others where it invites you to stay. At UM Beach House Ibiza, the sand is not a set, it is the stage. It seeps through your toes as the first course arrives and caresses your ankles as the wine is uncorked. Everything happens at ground level and with your senses heightened. There is no protocol beyond the swaying of both the sea and the only river in the Balearic Islands, which flows into the sea there as if it knows that it has arrived at the right place.

Santa Eulalia del Río was not chosen at random. Far from the hustle and bustle of other areas of the island, this site provides a shimmering calm, bathed in reflections of both fresh and salt water. UM Beach House does not impose, it blends in. Its design merges with its surroundings: sun-washed wood, natural fabrics and a range of greens that mimic the leaves that appear on every corner.

As your body settles on the sand, its kitchen begins its own parade. UM Beach Club Ibiza's culinary proposal is Mediterranean with an Ibizan flair. Local produce, proximity and respect for seasonality. The menu features matured meats, fish of the day, fresh salads, elaborate pastas and, as the crowning jewel, rice dishes. UM's cuisine does not aim to dazzle with fireworks, but with dishes perfectly combining sea and land. It provides seafood from its own nursery, hinting that the product is served as if sharing a secret: everything there is real.

The experience kicks off early at UM Beach House: at 11 a.m., when the beachfront sun loungers welcome the first visitors. From then on, the rhythm is set by the sun. The day flows leisurely: from relaxing on the beach to an unhurried meal under plant pergolas, and then from an afternoon of Afro-house music to the whisper of moonlit dinners. The moon in Santa Eulalia del Río seems larger, rounder and more cinematographic.

The atmosphere changes as the hours go by. There is a clear intention to move away from the clichés of excessive partying and gratuitous noise. Yes, UM celebrates having fun, but calmly and conscientiously. The music accompanies you without being intrusive, while the service provides suggestions without interrupting you. Everything is natural and spontaneous, with a subtle choreography blending sea, sand, tastes and good company.

The ever-present sand even transforms the way we relate to the area. There are no hard floors or rigid boundaries: you eat barefoot, toast at the water's edge and celebrate on a site that invites you to let your hair down. That is why it is a particularly attractive venue for private events. Weddings, anniversaries and corporate events are celebrated with soul. The team clearly understands that each event is unique and must adapt with tailor-made proposals, from informal cocktail parties to exclusive dinners with customised menus. The venue can accommodate between 100 and 600 people without compromising the feeling of intimacy outdoors.

Behind the concept is the Umami group, which had already made its mark in Majorca before settling on Ibiza. With UM Beach House, the aim is clear: to build an elegant refuge while maintaining the casualness characterising the island. According to Benjamin Henderson, the group's marketing director, "We don't want to be pretentious; we want to be natural and organic; we imitate what's around us". It shows. The site accompanies the landscape without competing with it. Eating there is an experience involving all the senses. It is also a reminder that sometimes luxury begins when you decide to take off your shoes.
