Daniel Pérez Pravos defines Balearik Cargo in one phrase: chameleon-like. And this is no rhetorical flourish, but the most accurate way of describing what this business has had to be since setting up in 2001 to survive, evolve and establish itself as one of the great flagship of specialised logistics in the Balearic Islands. In a sector such as this, adapt or die is more than a mere cliché: it is a reality that influences every decision. For over two decades, this company has transported goods at a controlled temperature between the Balearic Islands and the rest of Spain, maintaining the same exacting standards it has had since the outset. A standard of excellence that its founder has never been willing to lower from the very first day.
The greatest challenge in the history of Balearik Cargo was not growing the company, nor was it competition within the sector, but a much more complex change, one that forced it to rethink its business model from its very foundations. The company had to switch from conventional logistics to an LTL (Less Than Truckload) system, in which different customers share the space in one lorry, while maintaining the specific temperature conditions required for each separate consignment.
This leap, from transporting complete loads to managing LTL shipments with a much greater degree of precision, involved a huge transformation on both an operational and a human level. Daniel Pérez Pravos took on this process with the same determination with which he had built up the business from the start — by not looking for shortcuts and by understanding that the only way to advance was to constantly improve processes, service and customer care.

Currently, Balearik Cargo is operating with a fleet of 35 lorries made by firms such as Volvo, Iveco and Scania. Amid this constant development, sustainability has ceased to be a future goal, and become a tangible and measurable reality. At present, fifteen of the company’s vehicles are running on liquid gas, while two more are in the process of being manufactured with the same technology. The company is already working on the progressive introduction of electric vehicles at a rate that the supporting infrastructure allows.
Balearik Cargo connects the Balearic Islands with any point in Spain via routes from Barcelona, Valencia and Dénia, backed up by its own stores in Valencia, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca. A logistical network designed to guarantee that cold storage is maintained consistently at all times, from the source of the consignment to its final destination.
Working behind this structure are over one hundred professionals: the company’s own staff, self-employed workers, and partner companies. They all work to the same standards of quality, hygiene and punctuality that Daniel Pérez Pravos set at the very beginning and which, as the years have passed, have become a principal hallmark of Balearik Cargo.
This consistency is also the reason why some of the most prestigious brands and food distribution chains in the islands go on trusting and using the company year in, year out. Because in logistics, just like the hospitality sector to which it provides such a vital service, trust is not built overnight: it grows with every delivery, every run and every lorry that arrives on time.
