Barcelona will have once again a new concept by Albert Adrià
Next June 7th is the date chosen for Enigma to reopen its doors; a new journey of what was once one of the most emblematic restaurants in the city. This will currently be the only Albert Adrià restaurant where anyone who wants can come to enjoy the Catalan chef's creations.
Of the Enigma that we all knew, it will only keep the name, since what we will find after June 7th will be a new and different proposal that Albert Adrià and his team have been working on for many months. They have had a lot of time to think about how they wanted it to be, to offer all their clients and friends a place at the highest level, gaining more versatility compared to the previous formula, as was the case at Tickets.
They have called this way of understanding gastronomy "Fundinning", they have worked not only on the conception of a new gastronomic proposal, and a complete experience in terms of timings, but also on the modification of the space and the room.
We will find an Enigma that is not a restaurant with avant-garde cuisine, nor a cocktail bar; the idea of the team is to create a place where there is life continuously, where you can go at any time of the noon or afternoon.
To do this, they have created the "Lunch Time" where the customer can eat à la carte, the tasting menu disappears, and the diner chooses their own path with the intention of trying a various preparation. In addition, they have 2 satellite spaces – La Plancha and La Barra – where small dishes will be served in front of the customers. They will also have a magnificent selection of cocktails based on all the work they have done at elBulli. The kitchen schedule for this “Lunch Time” will be from 1:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m.
After lunch, the venue remains open ¡because the kitchen does not close! and from 5:00 p.m. it becomes another concept, changes its aesthetics, extends the drinks menu and will be combined with a selection of culinary preparations designed to accompany these cocktails.
This moment of the afternoon has been baptized as “Afternoon Drinks”; in this case, it is the food that is at the service of the cocktails, which will be somewhat more informal and festive, in Spain we call it "tardeo" and it is an increasingly upward trend, celebrating mid-afternoon accompanied by good drinks, food and music. The schedule for “Afternoon Drinks” will go from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for those who want to extend the meal in the afternoon or enjoy of “el tardeo”.
