Sala de Corte opened in 2015 and, although it moved to a new address in 2018, remained in the Cais do Sodré quarter. The restaurant specialises in matured meat, and its chef Luís Gaspar, although still young, has an unswerving approach to the precision and authenticity of the flavours brought to the table.
The menu has eight different cuts — from Tenderloin to T-bone, including Galician oxtail and Chuletón (rib steak) — prepared in a grill and coal oven for an unmistakeable flavour and unique texture. The restaurant is spacious, luminous and very welcoming, with 66 seats distributed among the counter, round centre tables and square tables flanked by plush sofas.
In 2017, Luís Gaspar won the Chef of the Year Award and was elected the ‘Best Promising Chef of Portugal’ at the Open Restaurant Festival, where he represented the country. Sala de Corte is the first home of chef Luis Gaspar in collaboration with Plateform.
