Midori

It’s one of the oldest and most respected Japanese restaurants in the country, but in 2017 innovation dictated the need for renovation. Nearly 25 years since first opening in Penha Longa Resort, Midori shrunk in size but grew in gastronomic quality and flair. The reinvention and redesign of this Japanese restaurant may have changed the décor, but its core remains the same: offering diners a culinary adventure showcasing Portuguese-influenced Japanese cuisine. Still heading the kitchen is Pedro Almeida, who has not only raised Midori’s kitchen to a higher level but also consistently excites diners with his bold, elegant and inventive dishes that remain in touch with the roots of Japanese cuisine.
