La Cabaña, a country house in the upper part of Playa d’en Bossa, is a special spot that has been home to several different restaurants since it began in 1973. Javier García Illecas (chef) and Laura del Mar Ropero (bartender) arrived in 2020, filling the restaurant with flowers, wood and lights to create a warmer style and make it a real cabin, in honour of its name.
Javier was formerly a private chef and sushi chef for various companies in Spain and abroad, settling permanently in Ibiza in 2017.
Laura del Mar, bartender and mixology lover, previously worked as Bar Manager for the Nassau group. Born in Malaga, she’s lived in Ibiza since 2014. “I always knew that after all my work and everything I’ve learned during these incredible years, I’d be doing what we’re doing today.”
The food is Asian-Mediterranean fusion with hints of southern Spain, the owners’ homeland. Highlights include red traditionally-caught tuna tataki with a salmorejo emulsion, Huelva white prawn ceviche with passion fruit and our favourite: skewered sardine nigiri.
The menu is designed for sharing and is filled with surprises, from home-made croquettes, Korean chicken wings, pil-pil prawn spring rolls to the best patatas bravas you’ve ever tried! One of our clients’ favourite spots.
