Ingredients:
- Young red wine: 1 l
- 1.2 kilos of peaches (not too ripe). As an alternative, you could use instead pears, nectarines, mangoes or any other fruit you prefer.
- sugar: 350 g
- cinnamon: 1 stick
- peel of lemon: 1
- peel of orange: 1
Preparation:
Peel all the fruit and cut it into small cubes.
Pour the wine into a saucepan. Add the sugar, cinnamon and orange and lemon peel, and boil for 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon and the peel, and add the chopped fruit. Boil for about 5 minutes (depending on whether the fruit is ripe or not; it should still be firm).
Allow to cool for a few hours in the refrigerator.
Serve with ice cream (we used Shiraz wine-flavoured ice cream), but vanilla, cream, or peach ice cream would be equally delicious).
Serve well chilled.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
