Miguel Ángel Carmona
When the Mallorcan entrepreneur Gabriel Morey founded Bodegas Túnel in 1986, little could he have imagined that his distribution company would become the largest in the Balearic Islands and one of the largest in Spain. Much has happened since he and his wife began making the famous, traditional Mallorcan Túnel and Palo Túnel liqueurs in a small distillery in Bunyola.
Today, Distribucions Túnel’s numbers are impressive: they store up to 12,000 pallets in their facilities, which cover nearly 16,000 m² and house around 4,500 labels from 800 brands. The company supplies more than 4,000 customers, many of them large hotel chains, and have a strong team composed of 130 employees and a fleet of 40 lorries and vans.
The more than 300 liqueurs and beverages produced at Antoni Nadal, a distillery belonging to the family group founded in 1898, naturally form an important part of their portfolio. This is in addition to the wines of Tianna Negre, one of the Mallorca’s leading ecological wineries.

Wines for all tastes and budgets
The catalogue of Distribucions Túnel is so vast that it includes labels from a wide variety of ranges, from simple, budget-friendly options to the most-awarded wines on the market. In fact, they also boast the distributor Mercavinos, specialists operating in the high-end restaurant sector, which demands the most renowned wines. Mercavinos has an independent sales team that advises customers when choosing one wine over another according to the cuisine they offer.
The general public can also access the Mallorcan distributor’s catalogue, either through their online store or at their physical shop in Marratxí (The Wine Company), just 20 minutes from the centre of Palma, and on whose shelves you will find wines from practically all of Spain’s denominations of origin, as well as countless international labels and a wide range of foreign sparkling wines and champagnes, without forgetting a broad portfolio of gins, vodkas, rums, tequilas, brandies, cognacs, liqueurs, spirits and more than 100 whisky labels!

Customer service as the company’s hallmark
At Distribucions Túnel they accept that what sets them apart from their competitors is their customer service. “One of our pillars is service”, says Miguel Ángel Carmona, the company’s sales manager for the restaurant sector. “Sales representatives are fundamental”, he goes on to add. “In fact, we have a sales team made up of 30 people. However, due to our huge catalogue (over 4,000 labels) it is humanly impossible for our sales representatives to show all our products to customers in one visit. So, in the last year, we have implemented a B2B app through which our customers, once registered, can access our entire catalogue and even place orders comfortably, quickly and with the assurance that they will arrive within 24 hours”.
Meanwhile, in terms of food, Túnel distributes to supermarkets and shops as well as wholesalers and has a wide range of foreign products that are in high demand among the different nationalities who visit the island’s tourist-oriented areas. All this together with its commitment to a 24-hour delivery service.
