Spring is just around the corner and with it returns We Are FaceFood, Ibiza’s international gastronomic event. The restaurant, hotel and catering sector’s most-awaited event on the White Island will serve as a meeting point for some of the finest premium brands of the moment, restaurateurs, chefs and hotel and catering professionals. The fifth edition of We Are FaceFood Ibiza, an essential gastronomic event for professionals in the sector, will take place on 10 March from 11 am to 6 pm, in the gardens of the Agroturismo Atzaró Hotel & Spa.

Sustainability, the digitalisation of the restaurant sector and Ibiza’s place on the international gastronomic map will be the key themes of the fifth edition of We Are FaceFood. Created and organised by FaceFoodMag, sponsored by Estrella Damm and co-sponsored by Balfegó and Moët Hennessy, the event welcomes a new edition having established itself as a tradition that kicks off the season for hospitality professionals in Ibiza and Formentera.

A jam-packed programme

Michelin-starred chefs and leading entrepreneurs from the gastronomy sector will be responsible for heading the different presentations, showcooking sessions and workshops that, as every year, will delight attendees. Some of the most notable names taking part in the programme of activities include the chef Albert Adrià, from Enigma restaurant (one Michelin star), in Barcelona, and Portugal’s Marlene Vieira and Joao Sá, owners of the restaurants Sála de Joao Sá, Marlene and Zunzum Gastrobar, in Lisbon. Also noteworthy is the round table developed this year by the organisers, which will bring together three chefs from the Balearic Islands: Óscar Molina from La Gaia, Ibiza Gran Hotel 5* (one Michelin star), Andreu Genestra (head chef of the restaurant Andreu Genestra [one Michelin star] and Aroma Restaurant), and Jaume Vicens, from the restaurant Béns d'Avall (one Michelin star), in Soller, who will speak about the future of Balearic gastronomy and the islands’ place on the national culinary map. Rounding off the “Cooking” section of the programme will be Juanjo López (La Tasquita de Enfrente, two Repsol suns).

As every year, We Are FaceFood has also prepared a selection of talks and workshops aimed at professionals from the restaurant, hotel and catering sector. The programme will feature the participation of Evarist March, botanist and biologist, CEO of Naturawalk and botanist at Celler de Can Roca for over 10 years, who will offer a guided tasting and presentation of Gin Raw. Also in attendance will be the Portuguese entrepreneur Rui Sanches (Grupo Plateform) and Saulo Ramallo (Foodbi), who will share their vision of the digitalisation of the restaurant sector.

What’s more, as is customary at the event, the gardens of the Agroturismo Atzaró will feature different stands, where more than 40 premium brands will showcase their latest gourmet products to visitors.
