Ibizan company BEdrinks, one of the most important distributors of spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks in Ibiza and Formentera, is ready for the 2022 season and optimistic about returning to normality after two years of uncertainty and instability during the pandemic.

And they have plenty to be optimistic about: the 2022 season will be marked by the recovery of the hotel and catering sector and the return of nightlife, thanks to the end of restrictions. However, despite the good news, the sector is currently facing other unprecedented challenges, such as the very real problem of drinks provisioning, a situation caused by the lack of materials available to manufacturers. A further challenge is the constant change in the demand for certain product categories and their international distribution, and a shortage of drinks in several categories of spirits, champagnes and tequilas. In addition to these issues, the Ibizan company has decided to expand its range of products in various categories.

New BEdrinks online store

A big development at BEdrinks is its new online shopping service aimed at individual customers. Shoppers can use the online store to purchase many of the products that are available in the company’s general catalogue with discounts, promotions, product packs and suggestions for special events. Fans of wine and spirits can also keep up to date on the latest news in the sector and find out more about products and star brands, with special reports and up-to-date news.

Immediacy and customer service in Formentera

For several seasons now, BEdrinks has had its own headquarters in Formentera. Based in Sant Ferrán, it also has its own warehouse and a team that was created to provide greater coverage and the flexibility and immediacy its clients need. The new headquarters has meant that BEdrinks has been able to make huge improvements to its service in the smallest of the Pityusic Islands because products are immediately available and it can provide daily and continuous sales support.

Expansion of show room

BEdrinks also has a show room where it hosts product presentations, runs training courses, and holds master classes with brand ambassadors from each brand and product tasting sessions. It’s a casual and multi-functional space where clients feel at home. The company has recently expanded these facilities in Ibiza so it can provide services to more clients at the same time in different spaces for each of its work categories: spirits, liquors, wine, beer, coffee, water and soft drinks.

Constant commitment to training

The success enjoyed by Ibizan distributor BEdrinks since it was created in 2016 hasn’t come easily – it’s due to the company’s firm commitment to its team, among other factors. BEdrinks consists of a young team that’s always delighted to explore new product categories and present clients with the latest innovations and trends in the sector. Constant training is therefore one of the company’s foundations. For example, the entire sales team completed WSET Level 2 in wine this year, and some members have already reached Level 3. What’s more, in collaboration with the prestigious Barcelona Outlook Wine school, BEdrinks has organised training sessions for its clients’ staff to help them train their work teams. And of course, courses and seminars (tasting, champagne, official WSET courses, etc.) are run at the BEdrinks facilities throughout the year. A drinks catalogue that doesn’t stop growing

BEdrinks has an extensive range of market leaders in every drinks category that it distributes, as the official and often exclusive distributor of many brands. Its most famous spirits and liquors include Moët-Hennessy, Amer Global Brands, Bacardi, Beam Suntory, Diageo and other market leaders; a particular highlight is its wide portfolio of agave-based spirits, with important tequila, mezcal, raicilla and sotól brands.

The company has a large wine category featuring Spanish and international designations of origin. In 2022, 30 new wineries joined the portfolio, including Grupo Rioja Alta, Davide, Ukan, Julieta’s, Raúl Pérez, Colterenzio, R. Voerzio, Domaine Fournier, Mesquida Mora, and Miquel Gelabert, adding greater variety and value to long-standing wineries such as Artadi, Javier Sanz Viticultor, Pago de Arínzano, Abadía Retuerta. It also includes the wide portfolio of importer Primeras Marcas and important wineries such as Domaines Ott, Louis Latour, Gaja, Baron de Ladoucette, and Viña Sastre, among others.

Sparkling wine is another of the distributor’s fortes with Spanish brands such as Llopart, Juvé & Camps, Izar Leku, Sogas Mascaró and a sophisticated range of champagnes from the grandes maisons, including Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Perignon, Ruinart, Krug, Armand de Brignac, Louis Roederer, Legras and Castelnau. Italian sparkling wine also features, such as the franciacorta Monterossa.

The beer category at BEdrinks couldn’t be stronger and it’s the exclusive distributor of Grupo Heineken. This year, highlights include the European launch of new Heineken Silver and the consolidation of the successful 2021 launch of Heineken’s Spanish brand El Águila. The catalogue also includes Cafés Baqué, a Spanish brand that is firmly positioned in the food market, waters such as Bezoya, Fontdor, Vichy Catalan, Artesian Water 22 and cocktail mixers from the Seventeen, Le Tribute and British brand Fentimans ranges.
